Dr. Nicola Bauer, Helmholtz Munich Career Center

This event is also open for participants from the Helmholtz Zentrum München. As the number of participants is limited, please register right away to secure your spot.

In the first part of the webinar, Nicola will talk about her own career path: After completing a PhD in stem cell biology at the MPI-CBG and BIOTEC in Dresden, she switched to pharma consulting – first for three years as an employee, then seven years as a freelancer. The latter enabled her to reset her career, initially completing studies in psychology and then by becoming a self-employed Walk&Talk coach.

Nicola will briefly report on the application process for and the work in pharma consulting, but will mainly focus on giving you insights into her motives and experiences of her career changes.

In the second part of the webinar, the participants will …

    • reflect upon where they are today and what is important to them for their further path,
    • learn about the importance and ways to step out of the stress response in order to approach challenges in a constructive way,
    • receive impulses on how to deal with inner doubts and insecurities, and
    • build their motivation to go for a bright future career and life that suits them best, in spite of (potential) obstacles in the way.

The webinar is devised with doctoral researchers and postdocs as key target audiences in mind. It will provide hands-on inputs on how to find the personal path towards a fulfilling life. The webinar is followed by a Q&A session.

The number of places available for the webinar is limited – first come, first served. Those who registered will be informed within one week from the registration (latest on 22 February) whether they received a place or not. All participants will receive an e-mail from Zoom containing the login details for the workshop as well as a registration e-mail from the Helmholtz Munich Career Center. Register here.
