This workshop serves as a platform to discuss methods of density functional theory (DFT) that are used to study the behavior of matter under extreme conditions (MEC) as found in planets and stars. Besides traditional DFT based on the Kohn-Sham formalism, alternative approaches such as stochastic DFT and time-dependent DFT are covered. The goal of the workshop is to facilitate exchange and collaboration between scientists working in this lively research field and, in particular, to attract students and PhD students. The number of on-site participants is limited to 25.
