CASUS Institute Seminar, Prof. Steffen Löck, Research Group Leader, OncoRay – National Center for Radiation Research in Oncology, University Hospital and Medical Faculty C. G. Carus, Technische Universität Dresden
Prof. Steffen Löck studied physics at Technische Universität Dresden. In 2012, he joined the OncoRay – Center for Radiation Research in Oncology as a researcher and teaching coordinator. Since 2015 he is the head of the OncoRay research group “Modeling and Biostatistics in Radiation Oncology” that focuses on outcome modeling based on clinical, genomic and imaging data.
The vision of OncoRay is to significantly improve the treatment of cancer by administering radiation therapy that is biologically personalized and technically optimized. Related scientific projects utilize AI approaches, e.g. with the aim to identify relevant biomarkers for personalized patient treatment or for fast decision making during the treatment process. In this presentation, exemplary AI-related research projects at OncoRay will be presented with a focus on image analysis.
