Due to the exponential advancement of computer vision and machine learning technologies, Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are quickly becoming a reality as the leading method of self-driving transport. This brings huge safety, environmental and accessibility advantages to the automotive world. In this talk I will give a detailed overview of the state of the art machine learning methods used in AV artificial intelligence. I will cover what AVs are, what AVs currently exists, how AVs use a complex array of sensors to build an internal representation of the world, and how this is used to make driving decisions. In addition I will cover discussions of how new risks emerge, and how these could be managed, and what are the major potential legal and moral hazards.
