The theme of Building Bridges 2026 is Energy – a key driver of scientific progress, economic development, and societal transformation. Energy research and innovation are central to addressing global challenges such as climate change, security of supply, industrial competitiveness, and sustainable growth. In particular, breakthrough developments in hydrogen technologies, nuclear fusion, and battery storage systems are redefining how energy is generated, stored, and utilized.

The event will bring together leading researchers, decision-makers, and innovators from Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe. The congress will take place on September 9–10 2026 at the Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden.

With ongoing research on e. g. solar fuel development and biocatalyst optimization the Center for Advanced Systems Understanding will have a strong presence at the event.
