Build a robot – robotics for young inventors

Would you like to design, build and program your own “machine man”? Do you want to experiment with what AI can do and have the algorithms in your own hands? It all sounds super complex – but in our course you’ll learn step by step from real scientists!

What to expect?

  1. drive & movement: Get to know the basics of robot mechanics
  2. smart remote control: integrate a microcontroller as the “brain” of your robot
  3. sensors & environment perception: equip your robot with ultrasonic, light and touch sensors
  4. AI & object recognition: Implement machine learning algorithms on your robot

Why take part?

In the course, you will learn how to build and control robots – without any school assessments. This is very useful knowledge if you want to take up a technical profession or if you just want to see if this might be something for you. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate – which can even be useful for job applications.

If you are not sure if this is something for you: Join the one-day try-out course in mid-March! You can decide afterwards if you want to join the full course starting on 26 March 2025.

Try-out course: 12 March 2025, 4 to 7 pm
Course period: 26 March to 18 June 2025, every other Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm
Location: RABRYKA Görlitz
Number of participants: 6 to 10
Recommended age: 12 to 18 years

The course, led by data scientist Dr. Thomas Arlt and supported by CASUS, is held in German. The final event in June will take place at the Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS), the hub in Görlitz for data-driven and computer-aided research.

Registration is possible via the RABRYKA website or via the QR code on the picture.
