In case of emergencies, use the following numbers:

Be prepared to describe your emergency:

Who is calling (your name and contact data);
What is the nature of the emergency (accident, fire, etc.);
Where is the emergency taking place (city, address, or any descriptive clue to help locate the accident);
Who is injured (number, sex, age) and how (conscious or unconscious? Breathing? Heart beating? Open wounds? etc.).

Please remember to carry your health insurance card with you at all times.

Medical needs 

If you need medical treatment in a non-emergency situation, you should first contact your family doctor. A list of multilingual physicians is given below:

Görlitz hospital also provides case management (in English and Polish) for foreign patients.

Family doctors are closed in the evening, on weekends and holidays. For medical needs outside regular hours, you can contact the emergency service (Ärztlicher Notdienst) provided by Görlitz hospital:

Emergency doctor practice in the hospital is available:

Thursday/Friday 15:00 – 19:00
Weekends/Public holidays/ bridge days 09:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 03:00 p.m. – 07:00 p.m.

In emergencies outside these hours go to the emergency room at Görlitz hospital.

On the Polish side in Zgorzelec you can get medical help in the hospital located at Lubańska Street 11-12, Zgorzelec. In case of medical emergencies outside regular hours (nights and weekends) you should go to the SOR inside the hospital.
