Cosmology Simulations and Large Scale Structure Visualizations

The CASUS Cosmology group investigates the evolution of the large scale structure of the universe beyond the standard cosmological model. The CASUS Scientific Computing Core implements non-standard models in the massively parallel N-body code gevolution which uses the particle-mesh method to simulate the evolution of baryonic and dark matter, in the presence of dark energy. Initial data is generated using the linear Boltzmann code CLASS. Resulting datasets are processed via a Paraview pipeline and converted into a compact 3D format for presentation in our in-house interactive virtual reality visualization system.
